Buyers on a budget have been flocking to Bridgegate, a new scheme in the Louth town of Ardee, from Dublin locations as far south as Sandyford in search of an affordable home within commuting distance of the capital.
The scheme is on an elevated site south of the town centre, with views of the surrounding countryside.
Thirteen three- and four-bed homes went on release last weekend, with prices starting at €230,000 for a three-bed end-of-terrace style. A three-bed semi-detached home costs from €240,000, while a four-bed detached design is priced from €315,000.
The houses have a white rendered façade, a pale-brick detail over the UPVC windows, and a grey composite front door. Inside, there are custom-fitted kitchen units and bedroom wardrobes.
The A3-rated homes have a high-efficiency gas condensing boiler for the central heating system, while PV panels generate free electricity to supplement household power consumption.
Bridgegate is a short drive from the M1, with the drive to Dublin taking 45 minutes during off-peak hours. There are also rail services from the train stations in Dundalk and Drogheda, which are 20 minutes and 25 minutes away, respectively.
Viewings will be held tomorrow and Sunday, between 2pm and 4pm.
